Congrats on upgrading to Kintrol—the cutting-edge tip that’s built to perform in any conditions. Just install and shape it like any standard tip, and then you’re ready to experience the balance of power, control, and durability that sets the Kintrol tip apart. You didn’t just replace a tip—you unlocked your next breakthrough.

- Kintrol Composite Tip
- Cue lathe with tolerances of #0.025 mm
- Tungsten steel lathe cutter
- Masking tape
- Loctite® 401 instant adhesive super glue
- 150 grit sandpaper
- Isopropyl alcohol 75% or greater

1. PROTECT THE SHAFT:
Before using the lathe, securely wrap masking tape around the ferrule and the section of the shaft that will be mounted. This helps prevent damage during the replacement process.
2. SECURE & ALIGN:
Mount the shaft properly between the headstock and tailstock, ensuring it is well-centered and precisely clamped. Adjust the clamping force carefully to avoid any risk of damage.

3. REMOVE OLD TIP:
Gently trim away the old tip using the lathe cutter. Remove it gradually rather than all at once, and take extra care not to damage the ferrule or tip plate.
4. PREPARE THE BONDING SURFACE:
Trim the face of the ferrule or tip plate to create a flat, even surface suitable for mounting the Kintrol tip.

5. ROUGHEN THE GLUE SURFACE:
Lightly sand the glue side of the Kintrol tip using 150-grit sandpaper to ensure better adhesion.

6. APPLY GLUE AND ATTACH THE NEW TIP:
Apply glue evenly to both the Kintrol tip and the ferrule or tip plate. Carefully center the tip, then press it firmly against the ferrule, maintaining pressure for at least 10 minutes to allow the bond to set. For best results, let the shaft stand as long as possible after releasing pressure to ensure the glue fully hardens.

7. TRIM EXCESS TIP MATERIAL:
Using the lathe, slowly trim away the excess outer E-glass shell of the Kintrol tip to match the shaft diameter. Remove material gradually in multiple passes.
Note:
- Kintrol 13mm tip fits 12.75mm to 13.00mm diameter Break/Jump shafts
- Kintrol 14mm tip fits 13.85mm to 14.10mm diameter Break/Jump shafts

8. SHAPE THE TIP:
Set the lathe to a low RPM and carefully sand the Kintrol tip to achieve your preferred playing dome radius.
9. FINISH:
Your replacement is now complete. Enjoy the Kintrol experience.
